College Basketball Roundup : Unranked BYU Upsets No. 12 Wyoming, 83-67

Michael Smith scored 20 points and Jeff Chatman added 18 as undefeated and unranked Brigham Young upset 12th-ranked Wyoming, 83-67, Friday night at Laramie, Wyo.
BYU (12-0 overall and 3-0 in the Western Athletic Conference) led throughout after taking a 28-27 lead midway through the first half.
Wyoming (12-3, 1-3) was led by Fennis Dembo, who had 21 points.
San Francisco 82, Gonzaga 79--Patrick Clardy scored 28 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the Dons to an overtime victory in a West Coast Athletic Conference opener in San Francisco.
Clardy grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with three seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.
Clardy’s sixth three-pointer of the game pulled USF ahead to stay with 33 seconds gone in overtime.
Both teams are 9-5 overall.
Santa Clara 83, Portland 60--Center Dan Weiss scored 16 points to lead the Broncos over the Pilots at Santa Clara in a West Coast Athletic Conference opener.
The Broncos (10-4) outscored the Pilots, 22-7, in the first 7 1/2 minutes of the second half and led by as many as 29 points.
Portland is 5-9.
Dartmouth 97, Cornell 83--Jim Barton scored 31 points to lead the Big Green (7-3 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League) to victory at Ithaca, N.Y. Cornell is 5-6 and 0-1.
Texas El Paso 69, Hawaii 64--Thursday night at Honolulu, the Miners (14-2, 3-0) held off the Rainbows (1-13, 0-3) in a Western Athletic Conference game. Tim Hardaway led UTEP with 18 points.
