Missouri Official Says Dream Diet Pill Is Just a Fantasy

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Atty. Gen. William Webster filed suit Friday against a California company for allegedly using false claims that its “Dream Away” diet pill results in significant weight loss during sleep.
Webster said the suit, filed in St. Louis City Circuit Court, names Nutrimarketing, a Van Nuys firm which advertised on a St. Louis television station under the name Advanced Dream Away.
The attorney general said the Federal Trade Commission has also taken action against the Dream Away diet pill. Webster contends the company has no valid information or study on which to base its marketing claim that consuming the diet pill will result in weight loss during sleep.
