California Amplifier Posts 149% 3rd-Quarter Increase

California Amplifier said its profit rose 149% in the third quarter ended Nov. 30 to $237,000, or 6 cents a share, as sales climbed 19%, to $2.2 million.
Profit for the Camarillo company, which makes radar equipment and components for satellite-dish antennas, has been increased by extensive cost cutting in the last two years. For the nine months, California Amplifier’s earnings rose 111%, to $42,000, or 12 cents a share, even though sales fell 7%, to $5.7 million.
