EL PASO, Tex. — Greg Foster, 6-foot 10-inch sophomore center who left the UCLA basketball team last week, will transfer to Texas El Paso this semester, officials at the Western Athletic Conference school said Monday.
Don Haskins, coach of the Miners, said he received a call from Foster on Monday. Haskins will talk with Foster again when he arrives on campus this week. Foster will not be eligible to play until next season.
Foster averaged 3.3 points a game as a freshman and was a starter this season. In UCLA’s opener this season, he had 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots against New Mexico.
