While the glitter of a gala performance was in progress downtown, Three’s Company was performing its final weekend of modern dance concerts at UC San Diego’s Mandell Weiss Theater. How did the home team fare against such stiff competition from abroad?

“It went great,” said co-director Jean Isaacs. “We had a bigger house every night. Audiences just kept getting bigger for each of the four performances (spread over two weekends). I think a lot of people saw both concerts (Nureyev’s and Three’s Company’s).”
