New Information on KAL Jet

The story on the KAL 747 is not what the headline says: “Soviets May Have Erred on KAL Jet.”
The the big story is that the President and secretary of state lied to the U.S.! The fact that the media and the government inflamed our nation in anti-Soviet intentional misinformation on one of the biggest stories of 1983 is startling.
Look back at those issues of The Times. See the level of hysteria and indignation on the “deliberate murdering of civilian air passengers.” The documents released by Rep. Lee H. Hamilton (D-Ind.) prove that officials knew they were lying. That such a volatile issue could be presented as fact should be of concern to The Times, as well as the readers.
