A suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old National City youth was arrested Saturday, police said.
The victim, Antonio Servin, was stabbed numerous times by several different assailants Friday night during an altercation police said was gang-related.
In custody Saturday was Robert Godinez, 18, who was being held on suspicion of homicide. Police said other arrests in the case were imminent.
The stabbing took place shortly before 11 p.m. Friday on the 3500 block of National Avenue. Witnesses told police that what began as an argument between Servin and several other men had escalated into a fight.
Servin was still alive when police arrived on the scene. He was rushed to UCSD Medical Center where he died at 11:40 Friday night.
