Local News in Brief : Driver Must Pay Penns

A pickup truck driver who crashed through the front gate of Sean Penn and Madonna’s Malibu home was placed on three years’ probation and ordered to pay the couple $3,000 for damages.
Steven Stillbower, 33, of Anaheim pleaded no contest Wednesday to misdemeanor counts of vandalism and peeking into the window of the celebrity couple’s home.
In addition to placing him on probation and ordering restitution to the Penns, Municipal Court Judge Lawrence Mira fined Stillbower $2,000.
Penn made a citizen’s arrest of Stillbower after he crashed his pickup truck through the couple’s gated bluff estate on Jan. 7.
