Aarn Satin; Co-Owner of Hollywood Billiards

Aarn Satin, a billiards authority and the pool room entrepreneur credited with bringing national tournaments to the West Coast, died Thursday, his partner said.
Seymour Sterling said Satin, with whom he had owned Hollywood Billiards on Hollywood Boulevard since 1973, died of an apparent heart attack. He was 60.
Sterling and Satin took over Hollywood’s oldest pool hall after moving here from New York. Satin owned seven pool rooms in Brooklyn, Sterling said, and his contacts on the East Coast made the national tournaments possible.
Their pool hall is in the 60-year-old Hollywood-Western building, designated a city landmark last January.
