A significant number of American companies will bolster hiring this spring, a leading temporary job service said in an unusually optimistic quarterly forecast on U.S. employment. Manpower Inc. said its employment outlook survey indicated that 29% of respondents plan to raise employment rolls in the April-June quarter, while 6% expect declines. Sixty-two percent plan no change and 3% don’t know, the survey stated. Manpower said it was the strongest spring hiring forecast in four years and suggested that manufacturers in all regions of the country are unusually buoyant about the economy.
