Chinese pianists dominated the third annual Joseph Fisch Piano Competition held at San Diego State University last weekend. Xiang Dong, 19-year-old student at Brigham Young University, won the $1,200 first place award in the college division. Dong, who had placed in the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Competition, played a program of Bach, Chopin and Scriabin to gain his prize. The $1,000 first place prize in the high school division was won by Julia I, a high school student from Arcadia, Calif.
