Workers rescued 11 children trapped for more than 24 hours under the rubble of a collapsed hospital in northern India before calling off the search for survivors of the tragedy, which left at least 32 dead. “There are no more signs of life,” Kashmir State Health Minister R. S. Chiv said. More than 200 military and paramilitary personnel worked into the night with picks, shovels and their bare hands after the collapse of the top two floors of the Government Children’s Hospital in Jammu, the winter capital of Kashmir.
