Actor Peter O’Toole has yet to comply with a court order requiring him to return his 5-year-old son, Lorcan, to the boy’s mother in New Jersey, even though a judge said last week that the actor would face a fine and possible arrest if he did not bring the boy back from England by Tuesday. O’Toole’s New Jersey lawyer said he believes the actor will return the boy, but he would not specify when. The lawyer for the boy’s mother, Karen Sommerville O’Toole (who took O’Toole’s last name although they never married), said he would seek O’Toole’s arrest “in a couple of days.” The two met six years ago. A short time after their child was born, the couple split and have been embroiled in a bitter custody dispute for more than a year.
