Irvine Valley College’s 1988 Outstanding Service Award has been given to the community college’s senior groundskeeper, Robert Dickerson.
Each year the community college picks one of its employees for the prestigious service award. The honoree’s name goes onto a permanent plaque with previous winners.
Dickerson has been with Irvine Valley since 1985. In recent ceremonies, President Ronald Kong praised Dickerson for far-ranging services to the college.
“Bob has represented the college and the district well during his years of service,” Kong said. “He works effectively with all employees, giving his professional expertise into all aspects of the programs in which he is involved.”
Jim Whaling, Dickerson’s supervisor, said of the award recipient, “The Saddleback Community College District is fortunate to have an employee of Bob’s caliber.”
