Ausman Chairs KCET’s Board

Sheldon I. Ausman, managing partner of the Southern California operations of the international accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co., was elected chairman of KCET’s board of directors Thursday, succeeding Kyhl Smeby, who had served for two years.
Ausman, who also oversees his company’s operations in Hawaii and parts of Nevada, has been with Arthur Andersen since 1955. Among the community and civic organizations with which he is involved are the Music Center, the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Huntington Museum, Library and Botanical Gardens and the National Conference of Christians and Jews.
His wife, Sandra Ausman, is chief of protocol for the County of Los Angeles.
