Tenneco Ship Unit Gains $2.9 Billion for Contract

HOUSTON — Tenneco Inc.’s Newport News Shipbuilding subsidiary has been awarded a $2.9-billion modification to an existing contract to provide for the construction of two Nimitz Class aircraft carriers, the company said.
The total target price for the construction, including an earlier contract award of $724 million, amounts to almost $3.7 billion, Tenneco said.
