Local News in Brief : Heavy Security for Trial

The most intense security seen at the U.S. Courthouse in Los Angeles in recent years has been implemented for the trial of three Mexican nationals charged in the murder of American drug agent Enrique Camarena, officials said.
U.S. Marshal Sam Cicchino said security is strengthened for any “high-risk case where there is an outside chance of something happening.”
Trial for Raul Lopez Alvarez, 28; Rene Verdugo Urquidez, 36, and Jesus Felix Gutierrez, 38, who are charged in the death of Camarena, started two weeks ago. It could last as long as three months.
