BRISBANE, Australia — A concrete slab weighing more than two tons broke free from a crane today and toppled onto a walkway, killing a 5-year-old boy and two adults, police said. Seven people were injured.
The slab was being lifted from the back of a truck where a bank building was being built when a strap securing the concrete either slipped or broke, said Police Inspector Clarrie Williams.
