GOP NATIONAL CONVENTION : Bush Says He’d Use FBI to Track Medical Waste

WASHINGTON — Vice President George Bush promised Thursday that if he is elected President he will have the FBI trace medical wastes being dumped into the ocean, but an FBI spokesman said the bureau is already doing that.
“We are already involved in a major case on ocean pollution (from hospital waste),” FBI spokesman Charles Steinmetz said. “In fact, this particular case is close to legal and civil remedies.”
The case is being handled by the Newark, N. J., office, he said.
