BEIRUT — A car bomb exploded in the Syrian-controlled town of Chtoura in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley on Tuesday, wounding at least five people, police said.
The blast appeared to be the latest in a string of shootings and bombings protesting Syria’s military presence in Lebanon.
Chtoura, a predominantly Christian commercial center, is a stronghold of pro-Syrian Lebanese parties, and Syrian troops have several military installations there.
