Hank Stram, football broadcast analyst who coached the Kansas City Chiefs to three American Football League championships and a Super Bowl victory, was listed in stable condition after undergoing open-heart surgery at Indianapolis.
Doctors at Methodist Hospital there replaced Stram’s aortic valve with an artificial one. Stram, 65, is expected to be hospitalized 8 to 10 days.
“Doctors report that the surgery went well and described it as routine,” hospital spokesman Jon White said.
