Coach Dave Currey’s football program at the University of Cincinnati is being investigated by the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. for possible rules violations, school officials said.

Currey, in his fifth season at Cincinnati, formerly coached at Cal State Long Beach.

He characterized the investigation as “routine until they come up with something that’s a problem. That’s what worries you. It’s the unknown.”
