Crespi and Alemany highs open Del Rey League play at 7:30 tonight at Pierce College in a game that features 2 football teams on 2-game losing streaks.
Points should be plentiful. Alemany (3-2) has been outscored, 81-43, in its past 2 games--losses to Palmdale and Canyon. Crespi (2-3), in losses to Servite and Muir, has been outscored, 69-49.
Crespi ranks 30th among 31 Valley-area Southern Section teams in defense, allowing an average of 321 yards a game.
Crespi tailback Russell White, who has 464 career points, needs 13 to break the state scoring record. He needs 295 yards to break the state and Southern Section rushing record.
Crespi’s secondary might be in for a long evening. Alemany quarterback Joey Rosselli leads Valley-area passers with 1,018 yards (70 of 114, 7 touchdowns). Alemany running back Tyler Robuck has gained 638 yards in 106 carries (6.0 per attempt).
