Man Killed in Wreck in La Jolla Near I-5

An unidentified man died Friday evening when his pickup truck collided with a van on La Jolla Village Drive near the Interstate 5 off ramp, police said.
The 59-year-old driver, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives in Southern California, was killed about 7:35 p.m. when he made a left turn off the I-5 ramp onto La Jolla Villa Drive and collided with the van, police said.
The driver of the van, who also was not identified, was treated at Scripps Memorial Hospital and released.
