People in Coldwater, Mich., who know Sharon O’Connor share her frustration that Charles Ng--the man charged in the deaths of her daughter, grandson and 23 others in a string of Northern California murders--has not been tried. They have launched a letter-writing campaign to push for his extradition from Canada. More than 80 residents of the small city have written to officials in Edmonton, Alberta, where an extradition hearing for Ng, a suspect in the 1985 killings, has begun. “The whole town of Coldwater is writing; we’ve had at least 80 (letters) go out so far,” said O’Connor, a supervisor at a mental health center. Ng, 27, is charged in the slayings of O’Connor’s daughter, Brenda, grandson, Lonnie Bond Jr., and the child’s father, Lonnie Bond.
