Taft 35, Chatsworth 21--Senior tailback Kelvin Byrd rushed for 242 yards and 5 touchdowns in 31 carries, including a 77-yard scoring run late in the fourth quarter, to lead the Toreadors (3-3, 2-2) at Chatsworth.

Chatsworth’s defense led the Chancellors (1-5, 1-2) to a 21-7 halftime lead. Linebacker Greg Garrison returned an intercepted pass from Taft quarterback Rich Cosentino 35 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Fernando Samiengo then blocked a Cosentino punt, setting up a 3-yard scoring run by Isaac Kyle. Kyle finished with 90 yards and 2 touchdowns in 16 carries.

Taft held Chatsworth to 20 yards in the second half.
