Comedian Max Alexander, scheduled to open a six-night stand Tuesday at the Irvine Improvisation, cancelled his show and was replaced by Jeff Joseph. Alexander will headline at the Improv tonight through Sunday.
At a Loss Enterprises has called off its production of “Piaf,” a play about the life of the fabled French singer Edith Piaf. It had been set to open Friday and run through Nov. 19 at the Fullerton Ballet and Performing Arts Company’s storefront theater at 116 W. Wilshire Ave. Patrick Garza, artistic director of At a Loss Enterprises, chose to cancel because of what he termed “lack of commitment.” The cast and the company reportedly could not agree on compensation guarantees.
