Anthony Downs, a senior fellow of the Brookings Institution, will head the list of speakers Monday for the annual office property conference of the Los Angeles County chapter of the National Assn. of Industrial and Office Parks at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.
This year’s session will focus on such issues as growth management, toxics and sewers, as well as the latest strategies for marketing, managing and financing industrial and office properties, according to Lynda Fetter of Boone Fetter Associates, a conference moderator.
Downs, an authority on real estate issues, will discuss the consequences of the Nov. 8 election.
Other speakers include Christopher L. Stewart, president of the Central City Assn.; Richard C. Schnell, senior vice president of Cushman Realty Corp., and Thomas Thompson, executive vice president of the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank.
The session qualifies for nine hours of Department of Real Estate continuing education credit. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and the cost is $195, according to conference coordinator Martin S. Stolzoff.
