Pat Blackburn, football coach at Alemany High, is assembling a team for a pair of exhibition games in Australia this summer under the sponsorship of the New Zealand American Football League.
The team is open to high school players who will graduate this year. Ten teams from 10 states will play 2 games each during the trip, which runs from June 30 to July 17. The California team will play Nevada in Sydney and then again in Brisbane.
Players must assume the $1,300 cost of the trip. The fee covers air fare, hotel accommodations for 10 days, all meals and a 4-day stay in Hawaii.
The deadline for applications is April 1.
