Local News in Brief : Countywide : Police, Officer’s Widow Give $80,700 to CHOC

The Fullerton Police Officers Assn. and the widow of one its former officers have contributed $80,700 to Childrens Hospital of Orange County to aid children currently being treated for serious illnesses and to help build a Ronald McDonald House in the county.
They presented a check to children at the hospital Wednesday night.
Fullerton police established a fund for Officer Bobby Kelly in 1987 to offset medical treatment expenses when Kelly developed bone marrow cancer. Before Kelly’s death in April, 1988, he requested that the funds be donated to the Ronald McDonald house.
The Ronald McDonald House serves as a home for children undergoing treatment for serious illnesses at local hospitals.
