An extracurricular activities consultant at Agoura High School will be arraigned next month on charges of child molestation, authorities said Friday.
Shuichi Komiyama, 35, was arrested Wednesday after the parents of a 16-year-old student complained to Las Virgenes Unified School District officials. District Supt. Albert D. Marley said he notified the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which, after an investigation, took Komiyama into custody.
Komiyama, a part-time district employee who helped with various activities at the school, was immediately suspended pending further investigation by the district, Marley said.
Komiyama was released Wednesday on $3,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 1 in Municipal Court in Calabasas, officials said.
