U.N. Says Members Owe Over $900 Million

UNITED NATIONS — The United Nations entered 1989 being owed more than $900 million in unpaid budget dues and contributions to peacekeeping operations, according to figures published on Wednesday.
According to a new U.N. financial report, outstanding budget dues for 1988 and previous years total $394.9 million. Arrears for peacekeeping amount to $524.1 million, making a grand total of $919 million.
