Arafat Lays Cornerstone for Embassy in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Yasser Arafat on Wednesday laid the cornerstone of a Palestinian embassy in Pakistan’s capital.
Pakistan was the first country to recognize the independent state declared in November by the Palestine National Council, the PLO’s parliament in exile.
