When the Writers Guild of America hands out its 41st annual awards on Monday, four honorary awards will be made along with the recognition of achievements in motion picture and television writing in the last year. Saluted for their contributions to the profession over the years will be Hal Kanter, who will receive the Paddy Chaefsky Laurel Award for Television; brothers Michael and Garson Kanin, who will get the Valentine Davies Award; Robert I. Holt, selected for the Morgan Cox Award, and Ring Lardner Jr., picking up the Screen Laurel Award.
