Costa Mesa-Newport Tournament Begins Today

Unbeaten Artesia High School, which beat Westminster, 6-3, to win the El Segundo tournament title, is the favorite to win the first Costa Mesa-Newport Easter baseball tournament, which begins today at four sites.
Capistrano Valley also is featured in the 16-team tournament, which replaces the Bolsa Grande tournament. The championship game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Orange Coast College.
The first-round sites and pairings:
At Newport Harbor: 11 a.m.--La Mirada vs. Newport Harbor; 2 p.m.--Los Amigos vs. Glenn.
At Estancia: 11 a.m.--Dominguez vs. Estancia; 2 p.m.--Artesia vs. Bolsa Grande.
At Corona del Mar: 11 a.m.--Orange Lutheran vs. Corona del Mar; 2 p.m.--Rancho Alamitos vs. Leuzinger.
At Costa Mesa: 11 a.m.--Santa Fe vs. Costa Mesa; 2 p.m.--Capistrano Valley vs. Lynwood.
