Coroner’s investigators are attempting to identify a man who was fatally shot in the head and left near the railroad tracks in North Hollywood, authorities said today.
The man, who appeared to be a transient between 25 and 35 years old, died last Friday night or early Saturday, said Detective Paul Stewart of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys division. An employee of a nearby business discovered the body Monday morning in an industrial area in the 12500 block of Raymer Street, near the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks, Stewart said. An autopsy by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office is scheduled for Wednesday, he said.
