Twenty-two suspects--13 males and nine females--were arrested in a prostitution crackdown in National City over the weekend, police said.
Sgt. Don Berstler of the National City Police Department said a three-hour undercover “sting” operation that began about noon Friday resulted in the arrests of 13 men who solicited undercover female police officers for prostitution. The arrests occurred along National City Boulevard and Roosevelt Street.
A seven-hour operation on Saturday led to the arrests of the nine females, who allegedly solicited undercover male officers.
Berstler said the men were cited and released and that the females were taken to the County Jail at Las Colinas. All of the suspects were booked on misdemeanor counts.
