Operator Injured as Crane Hits Subway Train in N.Y.

NEW YORK — Part of a crane perched on a subway work car smashed into a passenger train on an elevated track Wednesday, critically injuring the crane operator, who was knocked to the ground, officials said. Frank Davila, 54, suffered head and hand injuries, a Transit Authority official said. No other injuries were reported.
