NOW Rallies in Capital, Vows Abortion Fight

WASHINGTON — Leaders of the National Organization for Women, joining in an abortion rights rally across from the White House, pledged Wednesday to mobilize a march on the Capitol at the end of October.
“We will organize . . . the largest mass mobilization in history,” NOW President Molly Yard said. “We are going to turn this country upside down because we aren’t going to take it anymore,” she said, referring to Monday’s Supreme Court decision allowing more state restrictions on abortions.
“We’re not about to go home and give up,” Yard told a crowd of several hundred that gathered in a park across the street from the White House. “We are going to stay and fight.”
