A 73-year-old man was killed Wednesday when he lost control of his car on Pala Temecula Road near the Riverside County line, authorities said Thursday.
Raymond Milton Magee of Pala was heading north when he passed a truck trailer and lost lost control of his car, which went down an embankment and struck a tree, said Deputy Coroner Jack Larkie.
The driver of the trailer noticed a cloud of dust but assumed Magee had regained control of his car and continued on, Larkie said. A few hours later, when the truck driver returned in the opposite direction, he discovered the accident and notified authorities, Larkie said.
