Pacific Enterprises: The Los Angeles-based parent of Southern California Gas Co. reported that net income for the second quarter rose 10% over the same period of 1988 to $53 million on operating revenue of $1.545 billion. Improved second-quarter earnings from the company’s utility and oil and gas businesses were partly offset by higher interest expense, the company said.
