R. J. Reynolds Moves Ad Accounts: In a major blow to one of its largest advertising agencies, R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. said it had reassigned U.S. advertising for its Winston and Camel brands. The two brands, which spend an estimated $80 million in combined advertising, had previously been handled by McCann-Erickson Inc. FCB/Leber Katz Partners, which handles the company’s Salem and Vantage brands, has been assigned the Winston brand. Young & Rubicam, which also handles the More and Now accounts, has been assigned the Camel brand. The changes are effective Oct. 30.
