College Roundup : Titans Win Soccer Opener in Overtime

John Girardo scored in the second overtime to give Cal State Fullerton a 2-1 victory over the University of San Diego in a nonconference men’s soccer match Friday at Fullerton. It was the season opener for the teams.
Lance Kramer scored in the first half to give Fullerton a 1-0 lead and San Diego tied the score in the second half.
In other nonconference men’s soccer:
Grand Canyon 3, Southern California College 1--Aaron Griffith scored a second-half goal for visiting SCC in Phoenix.
In nonconference women’s soccer:
Cal Poly Pomona 0, UC Irvine 0 (OT)--Alicia Miller had seven saves for Irvine and Nikki Busch had four for Pomona in the season opener for both teams at Irvine.
In nonconference volleyball:
Boise State 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Kelly Baker had 13 kills to lead Boise State to a 15-11, 15-13, 15-7 sweep in the Titans’ season opener at home. Susan Herman had 10 kills and Tammy Miller had seven kills and three blocks for Fullerton in the debut of Coach Jim Huffman. Boise State is 2-0.
Menlo 3, Southern California College 0--Krista Hoover had 10 kills and eight blocks for visiting SCC (0-2).
