SACRAMENTO — Gov. George Deukmejian proclaimed a state of emergency Tuesday in Solano County and the city of Tracy in San Joaquin County to help the region recover from damage suffered in Oct. 17 earthquake.
Deukmejian had already proclaimed states of emergency for 10 other cities and counties affected by the earthquake.
The proclamation makes Solano County and Tracy eligible to apply for state and federal disaster relief money.
In his order, Deukmejian said, “The magnitude of this disaster exceeds the capabilities of the services, personnel and facilities” of Solano County and Tracy.
