Ayrton Senna, defending world driving champion, was fined $100,000 and suspended by an auto racing tribunal after being disqualified in last weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix.
The ruling virtually assured that the Formula One driving title will go to Frenchman Alain Prost. Senna would have had to win both the Japanese race last week and the season finale in Adelaide, Australia, this weekend to retain the title.
