Secomerica Buys H.M.S.S.: Secomerica Inc. of Newport Beach said Monday that it has completed the $250-million acquisition of H.M.S.S. Inc., the Houston-based home-therapy firm. Michael S. Kaye, Secomerica’s president, said the completion of the deal marks an important step in his company’s continuing diversification in the health-care field. H.M.S.S. provides registered nursing and support services, including patient training in self-administration of infusion therapies, specialty pharmacy operations and insurance-reimbursement assistance. Secomerica Inc. provides commercial and residential security and emergency medical services.
