G. I. Industries Stops Takeover Negotiations

G. I. Industries, a major rubbish collector based in Simi Valley, said it has suspended negotiations with Western Waste Industries concerning Western Waste’s proposed takeover of G. I.
Western Waste, a Carson-based waste-collection concern, had announced in May that it reached an agreement in principle to purchase G. I. Terms of the proposal were not disclosed.
David Van Rossen, G. I.’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, said the talks broke down over price and other issues, but he declined to be more specific. No new negotiations are scheduled, he added.
