A man believed to be a drifter was run over and killed by a train when he tried to jump on it Monday morning in Glassell Park, Los Angeles police said.
The unidentified man waited for the northbound Southern Pacific train with three other men at San Fernando Road and Avenue 26, Detective Sam Catalfamo said.
One of them, Timothy Adams, 24, told police that two of the men made it onto the train but it was moving too fast for him to board.
After the train passed Adams, he saw the fourth man’s body on the tracks, Catalfamo said.
