UAL Workers Seeking to Repel Outsiders: Frederick C. Dubinsky, head of United Airlines’ pilots union, said the carrier’s pilots, flight attendants and managers are working to develop a proposal that would give ownership “to the employees and not some unwanted outsider.” The airline’s parent firm, UAL Corp., is being pursued by investors Saul P. Steinberg, Marvin Davis, Robert M. Bass and Coniston Partners. Two earlier attempts by the pilots to buy the airline failed.
