VIDEORGY: Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler wasn’t happy about the news that NBC’s “Friday Night Videos” refused to air the band’s video of “Love in an Elevator.” “There’s a double standard going on,” he complained. “Madonna grabs her crotch in her video and no one has a problem. But they have a problem when Steven Tyler goes for it. Maybe they would let me grab Madonna’s crotch.” . . . Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson got quite a reception at their sold-out show in Cleveland last weekend. Not only did Def Leppard’s Joe Elliot hop on stage to join in on several songs, but Cleveland Mayor George Voinovich showed up too--and gave the duo the keys to the city. Hunter and Ronson returned the favor by donating the concert’s proceeds to help fund Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. . . . By late December, the Cult will begin a headlining U.S. tour, with L.A. dates to be announced shortly. . . . And our Album Title of the Week goes to pop activist Bob Geldof, whose upcoming record is called “Vegetarians of Love.”
